QST executive director visits BRI

On November 1, 2023, Masamichi Chino, Executive Director, and Naruhiro Matsufuji from the National Institutes for Quantum Science and Technology (QST) visited BRI.

BRI Professor Akiyoshi Kakita　(Dept of Pathology), provided an overview of the institute. Following this introduction, the delegation ventured to the Brain Bank, where they observed the ultra-low temperature freezers containing frozen brain specimens and the brain cutting room. Guided by Professor Hironaka Igarashi (Dept of Biological Magnetic Resonance), they then explored the MRI equipment used for research at the Center for Integrated Human Brain Science.

On October 27, 2023, BRI and QST formalized their collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to amplify joint research and development, as well as human resource development, leveraging the research facilities, equipment, results, and talent from both institutes. We are committed to fostering vibrant mutual exchanges and reinforcing research cooperation.
