Research Focus

The Division of Applied Brain Analytics is dedicated to translating advanced brain analytical technologies into clinical practice and society. Using cutting-edge neuroimaging techniques, including PET and MRI, we investigate the pathophysiology of neurological disorders, particularly neurodegenerative diseases, and develop novel approaches for diagnosis, biomarker discovery, and treatment evaluation. Recent advances in molecular imaging have created new opportunities for drug development and precision medicine.
In close collaboration with the Division of Brain Pathophysiology Evaluation Technology and the Division of Brain Pathophysiology Data Science, we promote integrated research spanning technology development, data-driven analysis, and real-world implementation. Through partnerships with academic institutions, healthcare organizations, and industry, we also participate in drug discovery alliances aimed at developing innovative biomarkers and therapeutic strategies.
A major mission of our division is to facilitate the responsible implementation of emerging biomarker technologies into clinical settings. To this end, we address the ethical, legal, and social implications (ELSI) associated with their clinical application, including issues related to biomarker disclosure and informed decision-making. We are also committed to ELSI education for healthcare professionals and researchers. By bridging technological innovation, clinical research, and societal application, we aim to realize sustainable brain healthcare for future generations.
