Dr Liu awarded FY2021 JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship

Dr. Xinyi Liu

BRI postdoc Xinyi Liu (Dept of Cellular Neuropathology) has been awarded a JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science) Postdoctoral Fellowship for Research in Japan (standard program) for FY2021. Her research is titled "Imagining functional synaptic plasticity during motor learning".

The program provides an opportunity to conduct collaborative research for young overseas researchers under the guidance of their hosts in universities and other research institutions in Japan. Dr Liu won this competitive fellowship (success rate: 11.1%).

Two-year fellowship will promote her research into understanding the molecular mechanisms of learning and memory by revealing when, where and how synaptic plasticity occurs in the context of motor learning.
