BRI signs MOU with Royal Conservatory of Brussels, Belgium
On September 3, 2026, BRI signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles), Belgium, to promote academic and research exchange.
This MOU builds upon the research collaboration between BRI's Associate Professor Dr Kosuke Itoh (Dept of Integrative Neuroimaging Informatics) and Dr Yoko Kikuchi, Associate Professor at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
Through the exchange of researchers and graduate students, we will further strengthen our collaboration in research on the neural mechanisms underlying music-related phenomena, including musical performance, absolute and relative pitch, and synesthesia. The partnership will also support the development of music education methods based on scientific evidence. By fostering interdisciplinary and international collaboration, this MOU is expected to contribute to the establishment of an international research network.
