Signing ceremony held to confirm extension of MOU with Johns Hopkins University

On February 23, 2026, BRI and Johns Hopkins University held a signing ceremony in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, to confirm the extension of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on joint research.

The ceremony took place during a visit to Johns Hopkins University by a BRI delegation consisting of Professor Makoto Oishi (Dept of Neurosurgery) and Associate Professor Manabu Natsumeda (Dept of Brain Tumor Biology).

BRI has a longstanding collaboration with the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in the field of brain tumor research. The extension of this MOU is expected to facilitate the resumption of direct research exchanges, which had been temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Moving forward, BRI remains committed to promoting active and sustained mutual engagement in collaborative research.
