Dr Mitsuhashi selected for JST's PRESTO program

BRI Assistant Professor Dr Yuka Mitsuhashi Koike (Dept of Molecular Neuroscience) has had her research project selected for the PRESTO program by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) for FY2024.

Project Title: "Deciphering Neurodegeneration via DNA Damage by Age-Dependent Demethylation"

Strategic Objective:Elucidation of the mechanisms relating to changes in biological robustness associated with aging and control of age-related diseases
Research area: Fundamental Understanding of Age-Related Organismal Transformations

The purpose of PRESTO is promoting unique and challenging, internationally high-level basic research to address the important problems facing our country and to produce creative and innovative technology seeds (new technology seeds) based on new scientific knowledge as a source of scientific and technological innovation that can transform society and the economy.
