Press conference held for the research findings on ischemic stroke

Research group discovered that the administration of peripheral blood mononuclear cells preconditioned by oxygen-glucose deprivation prompted functional recovery. OGD-PBMCs administration using a rat transient focal cerebral ischemia model improved the functional outcome. These findings are expected to be a novel therapeutic strategy against ischemic stroke.

The press conference for Dr Masahiro Hatakeyama, Specially Appointed Assistant Professor and Dr Masato Kanazawa, Associate Professor (both in Dept of Neurology) was held at BRI on Monday, November 18, 2019.
