Annual memorial service for animals held

A memorial service for animals was held at BRI conference room on Monday, November 6, 2023.

The campus-wide memorial services are held every year to acknowledge the contribution of animals to excellence in research and teaching at Niigata University. A total of 170 faculty members and students from BRI, Faculty of Medicine, and Faculty of Dentistry turned up to lay flowers, showing appreciation, comforting the spirit, and consoling the souls.

Subsequently, Dr Mayu Uchihashi from Medtronic Japan Co., Ltd. delivered an online talk on "Humanitarian Euthanasia: The 2020 AVMA Guidelines for the Euthanasia of Animals" to an audience of approximately 50 people.
