62nd Niigata Biochemistry Colloquium

I spoke at the 62nd Niigata Biochemistry Colloquium at Niigata University of Pharmacy on studying birth, aging, disease and death in small fishes, and was asked to serve as a core member, something like a steering group. When I was a Ph.D. student the molecular biology and biochemistry societies often met jointly, so I never joined the biochemistry society itself. Lately I am asked for symposia and reviews, so I should join, but I am waiting — non-members are not charged a fee when invited. Large societies have little contact with ordinary people like me. A meeting the size of the small-fish meeting is excellent for exchanging information.
