36th Japanese Basal Ganglia Society meeting

I spoke at the 36th Japanese Basal Ganglia Society symposium on “Neurodegeneration of Parkinson’s disease in the fastest-aging vertebrate,” hybrid, in a room on the shore of Lake Biwa. My mentor Prof. Ryosuke Takahashi of Kyoto University also gave a special lecture, which I listened to with interest. Our labs now use completely different methods, yet reach similar conclusions, which is encouraging. From the start of graduate school he has both encouraged and properly scolded me. I submitted my resignation to the clinical department to become a scientist, and he has still supported me. I am full of thanks.
