A red cup and green Gomado-yama

On Gomado-yama I found something red like the attached photo; two weeks later it had vanished completely. ChatGPT says it is an elf cup (Sarcoscypha), but is that true? Once the spores are gone the red cup can disappear; the organism is probably somewhere even if we cannot see it.
