Md. Nazmul Islam completed his Ph.D. and will begin a postdoc at Johns Hopkins

Md. Nazmul Islam completed his Ph.D. and will begin his next stage as a postdoctoral researcher at Johns Hopkins University (Dr. Sawa).

His first research plan did not unfold as expected. He did not stop there. He found the next question, built a new path through the work, and turned it into a paper: phosphorylation of optineurin by TBK1 drives Golgi fragmentation (Biochem. Biophys. Res. Commun., 2025).

We applaud both that resilience and the cheerful personality that brightened the lab. We held a farewell gathering on 17 September, and wish him continued development of the work. Congratulations, Nazmul!
