Papers have been accepted. Dougnon, G., Matsui, H.* Environmental context modulates sociability in ube3a zebrafish mutants via alterations in sensory pathways. Mol. Psychiatry, 2025. In a novel, anxious environment, autism-model fish show abnormal social behavior; in a familiar environment that abnormality disappears. I think people have seen the same kind of thing in human society. Social-behavioral conditions such as autism are often treated as uniquely human, but it is worth noting that the basis is already there in fish.
