In their words

I have been fascinated by the human brain since my undergraduate years. It amazed me that one organ could hold our memories, our personality, and everything that makes us who we are. During my master's degree, I began studying Alzheimer's disease, and I was surprised by how much we still do not understand about it, even though medical technology has advanced so much. A disease that slowly takes away a person's memories deserves our best tools and our best efforts. Through my research on the APP gene family, I hope to uncover what happens in the brain when this disease begins and help bring us closer to better treatments.
