In their words

I am originally from Bangladesh, and my path to neuroscience has been shaped by the opportunities and experiences I have had over time. Studying the brain is not only about research, but also about understanding how we think, behave, and act as human beings. I believe that understanding and appreciating normal brain physiology is essential for exploring complex diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. After working in Japan, I moved to the United States for advanced training, which further deepened my appreciation for Japan’s careful, long-term approach to research. In addition to professional reasons, Japan’s unique culture, food, and beautiful natural environment also played an important role in my return. I look forward to contributing to and learning from the brilliant neuroscience community here at BRI, Niigata University.
