BRI Celebrates 50th Anniversary: Commemorative Lecture and Reception Held
This year, 2017, marks five decades of Brain Research Institute as a university affiliated research institute.
On Monday, June 12, 2017, BRI celebrated its 50th anniversary. The invited speaker, Dr. Yoshinori Murakami, Dean of the Institute of Medical Science, the University of Tokyo delivered a commemorative lecture on the initiatives for prospective development of affiliated research institutes, which attracted around 60 people of BRI audience.
Following the lecture, the reception was held and around 170 BRI members gathered to celebrate this milestone anniversary. The reception embraced speeches of the guests including President of Niigata University, Dr. Sugata Takahashi before proposing a toast by Prof Emeritus, Dr. Fusahiro Ikuta.
Speeches made by Professors Emeriti, Dr. Mei Satake and Dr. Masatoyo Nishizawa brought attendees' thoughts back to the spirit of BRI foundation.
